According to medical report, a woman will get pregnant and have a baby (or babies in the case of a multiple birth) about a year after her first menstruation. Women start to produce eggs (ovulate), almost a year after their first menstruation. Eggs production, also known as Ovulation varies among women. Some women start ovulating late, and others, extremely early. The early onset of menstruation is called "precocious puberty."
Precocious puberty is a phenomenon that occurs in the male gender as well. However, this article will not go into details about precocious puberty, maybe, not just yet. It is noteworthy that as soon as a boy ejaculates, he can impregnate any lady of any age for as long as she is yet to enter her menopause stage.
And yes, pregnancy may still occur in some women even after their menopausal stage. The invention of In vitro Fertilization (IVF), is perhaps the greatest miracle for child conception in this modern age. Menopause is a topic that I will talk about later on in the coming series of this favorite talk; Pregnancy Talks.
Regardless of the age, once a lady start ovulation, and becomes sexually active, she shouldn't be surprised to welcome a pregnancy. Sex with a boy of age twelve and above; and him releasing his semen into the woman can result in pregnancy. The sperm can live up to seven days in the cervix of a lady to fertilize eggs. Hence the saying, "No glove, no love, until you’re ready to have kids."
Lina Medina, a Peruvian girl born in 1933, began menstruating at the age of eight months, was tragically raped as a 5-year-old and gave birth at six years, five months. She is the youngest confirmed mother in medical history. Medina is still alive today. Her son, born by caesarian section, lived forty years before he died. He was raised as her brother.
